On June 26, the Second Member Congress of the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Branch of China Association of Higher Education (CAHE) and the Academic Forum on the Development of Foreign Language Education in the New Era were held in Beijing. The event was sponsored by the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Branch of China Association of Higher Education and organized by Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU). More than 160 representatives from nearly 120 universities across China, as well as experts and scholars in the field of foreign language education, attended the congress. The congress elected the second council of the CAHE Foreign Language Teaching and Research Branch. Professor Ye Huijun, Dean of our College, was elected as the standing director .

As a branch of the CAHE, the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Branch is a professional academic organization initiated by BFSU and jointly established by many universities and research institutions in China, aiming at gathering the national foreign language teaching and research forces, carrying out theoretical and practical research on foreign language education and teaching, and promoting the innovative development of foreign language education in China.

It is of significance for Hebei University to become one of the 56 standing director units in China. It can enhance the status and social impact of our university as well as promote the development of our foreign language discipline and the cultivation of foreign language talents.
